In July 2009, Ms. Nicely was presented the Public Library Association’s Charlie Robinson Award for a public library director who has been an innovator, risk-taker and change agent in libraries; in the same month, she was recognized by resolution of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County City Council for her accomplishments. In August 2009, Ms. Nicely was named to the “Academy for Women of Achievement” for 2009 by the YWCA of Nashville and Middle Tennessee.
