Bill Purcell joins us for “Third Thursday” February 20 2014 Meet and Greet

photo of Bill PurcellOur next “Third Thursday” event will be February 20, 2014 from noon to 1 at the Avon Williams Campus of Tennessee State University.  Our guest will be Bill Purcell of Jones Hawkins & Farmer, PLC, past Mayor of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County (1999-2007) and Founding and Interim Dean of the College of Public Service and Urban Affairs at TSU.  His distinguished career in public service also includes roles as Director of the Institute of Politics at Harvard University, as well as  Lecturer in Public Policy at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government.  Purcell was elected to the Tennessee legislature for a total of five terms, including service as Majority Leader.  You can read more about his substantial accomplishments here.  Please take this opportunity to hear from Bill Purcell and meet colleagues interested in public and nonprofit service, in an informal setting!

Logistics: For this event we will meet in Room 200 K459 at AWC; thirs is on the 2nd floor near the elevator (please note room change!).  Light snacks will be served.  No parking is available at the Avon Williams Campus main lot; however, meters and lots are available in the surrounding downtown area. State employee parking lots are available nearby for those with permits (including the lot across Charlotte Ave. on 10th Ave).
