Join us on September 18 for our first Lunchtime Lecture of the fall! LaKesha Page, Director of College Savings for the Baccalaureate Education Trust Division of Tennessee’s Treasury Department, will speak on the TNStars College Savings 529 program, designed to make college savings easy. Recognizing the need for a highly skilled workforce and the role that higher education plays in achieving that goal, the state of Tennessee offers parents and other relatives a low-cost way to save for children’s college expenses with attractive investment options and special tax advantages.
Ms. Page oversees the operation, marketing, and investments of the TNStars College Savings 529 Program, which has approximately 5,000 accounts and $17 million in assets. She also manages the day-to-day operations of the State of Tennessee’s BEST Prepaid Plan, which no longer accepts new enrollments, but which has approximately $87 million in assets for existing account owners. Ms. Page has over thirteen years of experience with the Treasury department, including eight years working in college savings. She holds a bachelor’s degree in political science with an emphasis in public administration from historic Fisk University.
