During the period from September through November and January through April, TN-ASPA offers a series of “Third Thursday” Lunchtime Lectures. These informal sessions feature speakers of interest to nonprofit and public professionals, as well as occasional networking and other special events. 2016-2017 Series on “Closing the Gap: Social Equity in Public Administration”:
- September 15: Herbert Brown with the Tennessee Higher Education Commission (THEC) will speak on their social equity in higher education initiatives. THEC is the State’s coordinating agency for higher education.

- October 20: Wade Munday with Tennessee Justice for Our Neighbors (JFON) will speak on Immigration and Imagination. JFON provides affordable, high-quality immigration legal services to immigrants, educates the public and faith-based communities about issues related to immigration, and advocates for immigrant rights.
